Leah Allen, of Lollies by Leah, is one-woman wonder behind these gourmet, small batch lollipops based in Austin, Texas. What started as a side project alongside her musical career, Allen now ships her lollipops all over in both repeating subscription boxes and assortments. Her lollipops are inventive and fun while remaining corn syrup free.
Allen's previous branding didn't match to the personality of herself or the bright, exciting flavors that she concocts on a stick. The brand previously relied on a singular logo drawing that lost definition when scaled and was supplemented with a mismatched illustration that sacrificed brand cohesion. The goal with the rebrand was to expand the visuals for the multiple applications of Allen's branding and to fit the design better to the personality of the pops and the maker alike.
Ultimately, the direction was inspired by the modernized vintage aesthetic that permeates Austin, Texas with a focus on rounded shapes and circle accents that mimic the true focus of the business: lollipops. The play on transparency evokes the clear pours of the candy elements while the use of outlines keeps even the digital elements slightly homemade and fun.

Rounded corner cards mimic the circle elements throughout the brand.

A crop on the main logo is used for package stickers while the thank you card uses the horizontal alternate.

Alongside the logo variations, three illustrations highlight the unique qualities of Allen's lollipops.

"Working with Franki has been a great experience. She has enhanced and unified the image of my brand more than I thought possible.
Before, I had a mish-mosh of logos and images that I used and she was able to create a cohesive color and brand theme with multiple products for digital and print marketing.
She was friendly and responsive throughout the entire process, taking in feedback, but also educating me on reasons that one design element might work over another.
The final product embraces the personality of my product and I couldn't be happier with the the overall re-branding."

To further assist with Allen maintaining her new branding, I worked with her existing subscription for online resource Canva to create a Brand Kit within the program that saved her color palette and typefaces so that Allen can continue to use the Canva resource to create social media and marketing graphics herself following the new guide.

To encourage word-of-mouth advertising on social media, I created a pack of gifs for the GIPHY system that uploads to Instagram and Facebook by adding motions to existing brand graphics and with new illustrations to encourage people to share their purchases and stoke excitement for the brand further. Gifs are made in Illustrator and usually animated in Photoshop.

Brand colors utilize transparency, but print alternate were included to maintain color clarity when using inks.
